Mister is an adult, male Umbrella Cockatoo. He has a definite preference for men and does not tolerate women. The ideal home for Mister would be an adult, all male household.ADOPTED
Jemma is an awesomely sweet Moluccan Cockatoo. Like all Cockatoos she can be loud when she wants attention. Jemma is the center of attention in any crowd of humans! She loves to interact and show off for anyone that wants to give her attention. ADOPTION PENDING
Nectar is an adult Sun Conure. He is young, approximately 2 yrs. old. Nectar has not been handled in awhile. He is working on basic step up and other manners.ADOPTED
Nani is a sweet female Umbrella Cockatoo. She is used to being spoiled just as she should be. Her Mom could no longer care for her and was devastated to give her up. Nani is a great snuggler and loves to cuddle or spend time on a play stand.
Bucky is a Hahn’s Macaw who has not been handled for awhile. We are working on step up and basic manners. He will be with us until he has mastered some of the manners. ADOPTED
Bennie is still working on his manners but there is a really sweet little fellow in there! He steps and has stuff to say. He will allow scritches but he can be nippy.
Vaca is a 23 yr. old Yellow Collar Macaw. He has only had 1 owner prior to coming to us. Vaca is a sweet and quiet fellow whose owner had job changes that led to a lack of time to devote to him so he felt it best to find him a new home. His owner loved him very much and he has been well care for. Vaca will do best in an adult, quiet home s an only bird or 1 of 2 birds. You can visit Vaca at It’s For The Birds in Naples.ADOPTED
Mango is a sweet little Sun Conure. He enjoys head scritches and spending time with his human.ADOPTED
Largo is an adult Patagonian Conure with loads of personality. She will play “dead bird” and has an acrylic ball that is the love of her life. Largo will share her love with most anyone. She requires a large cage with room to play and be roudy. Visit Largo at It’s For The Birds in Naples.
Xena is a female 8-9 yr. old, female B&G Macaw. She is hand tame and loves to get scritches. Xena is a very docile girl. She loves food and enjoys treats such as chicken bones. She does get a bit upset at going back in her cage. She will sit on top of her cage as long as she’s allowed. Xena does pluck and has unfortunately continued to pluck while in rescue. Her chest is mostly bare with new feathers coming in slowly.
Mary Jane is a believed to be female B&G Macaw. She is hand tame. Mary Jane’s toes are somewhat deformed we believe from not having proper size perches. They do not create a problem for her perching or playing. Mary Jane was rescued by a good samaritan from a drug house. She is a bit cage territorial but is a total sweetheart outside the cage.
Keiko is an adult Senegal Parrot. He spent 12 yrs. in a loving home and was very tame. Keiko has had some fright issues since losing his owner. He is however now accepting head scritches and toe tickles as well as wing pit scritches. Keiko needs an experienced bird person to live with. He will continue to work on manners while in rescue. ADOPTED
Jazz is a male Scarlet Macaw. He is hand tame and loaded with personality. He talks up a storm and loves to spend time with his human. Like many Sarlets, Jazz has to learn that his human is the boss but once he does he is a teddy bear, giving and accepting kisses. He really enjoys his head scritches as well.
Blue is an adult, ale B&G Macaw. he has plucked himself bald for years and may never regrow feathers. He tends to choose 1 human as his own and rejects everyone else. His chosen human is a lucky person because blue will lay on his back and snuggle and give kisses.
Indy is a senior, female Indian Ringneck. She is 25 yrs. old but has another 10 or 15 yrs. to go. She is hand tame. She can be a bit nervous of hands until she gets to know you. Indy loves to play with her foot toys on the bottom of her cage.
Tinker and Peppy are best of buds! They have spent their entire life together and want to find a new home together. Tinker is a Greenwing Macaw and Peppy is a B&G Macaw. Tinker is sweet and docile while Peppy has big bird attitude.
Harley is a sweet B&G Macaw. She came from a neglect situation and has a difficult time trusting men. Harley has a special liking of bright pink hair ties or anything else bright pink for that matter. She does pluck her chest and has for some time now. We really belive with the right home and person to love her this behavior may stop. She is looking for a nice quiet home. Harley does well with other birds. Harley is terrified of men, unlike any terror we have ever seen. She is OK with a man in the room but becomes extremely stressed and fearful if a man approaches her.
Hercules is a 11 month old Hybrid Macaw. We really think Hercules is a “she”, but that’s OK as she has already had much to overcome in her short life. Hercules’ tail was cut off so she would fit into a Cockatiel size cage and she was underweight requiring hand feeding when she came to us. She has put on weight and is learning to trust hands again. The poptart in the picture above was a well earned treat after taking it from a man’s hand.
“Z” is a sweet little Green Cheek Conure. He is hand tame and enjoys spending time on his favorite human. These little guys have large bird personality in a small bird body.
Boomer is a sweet, hand tame Lovebird. He is looking for a family to call his own.
Tarzan is an adult Sun Conure. He is hand tame. He was fed an all seed diet for many years and we are working on converting him to pellet. Tarzan came to us with 7 other birds from the same household.
Sunday is an adult Sun Conure. He is hand tame. He came with 7 other birds from the same household.
Stephi is an adult Green Conure. She is hand tame. She was fed an all seed diet for several years. We are working on converting her to a pellet diet. Stephi came with 7 other birds from the same household.
Michael is a Mexican Redhead Amazon. He definitely prefers men and is looking for a Dad to call his own. he is a queit boy but does say his name. Michael does accept scritches from women.
Nakita is a 29 yr. old Yellow Nape Amazon. he is looking for a man to share his life with. Nakita has lots to say and adds joy to every day.
Lucky was saved from an abandoned home by his previous Mom, hence his name Lucky. Mom loved him dearly but due to circumstances out of her control had to relinquish Lucky. He is a quiet bird who takes al ittle time to get to you. You can visit Lucky at It’s For the Birds in Naples.
Bonnie is a 20 yr. old female Umbrella Cockatoo. She is hand tame and loves to get scritches. Bonnie does go through periods of plucking then will allow her feathers to grow back in. It appears her plucking is hormonal driven as she will also lay eggs now and then. ADOPTED
Mr. P came to us when his Dad became terminally ill. He definitely prefers men but will allow certain women to pick him up to transfer from cage to play stand. Pionus are quiet birds. Mr. P is a Whitecap pionus.
Monkey is a Peachface Lovebird. He is not hand tame and prefers to play with his toys.
Skava is a sweet boy that has been passed through several homes in his lifetime. He is looking for a long term committment and not a one night stand. Skava has lots of love to give but he will test and bluff you to see if you will go away like all the others.
Emmet is a sweet and quiet African Grey. He is a bit nervous until he gets to know you but loves to get head scritches. Emmet is very good at imitating sounds such as answering machine beeps. He is looking for a nice quiet home with a human to call his own.
Tinga as you can see really enjoys her head scritches. She does have some plucked area to her chest but seems to be leaving it alone now and feathers are coming back in nicely. Tinga steps right up to anyone and loves to spend time just hanging out.
Gorgi is a male Parakeet looking for his new home. He really prefers to play with his toys and hang out in his cage. He needs someone to appreciate his beautiful chirping sounds and love him just the way he is.
Polly is a reserved little lady who prefers humans to other birds. She likes to get head scritches and just hanging out.
Dahli likes to make sure you know his name. If you didn’t understand the first time he will repeat it for you, as many times as you need. He needs a nice quiet home as he is a bit skittish when there’s a lot of noise or commotion. He is used to spending a lot of time out of his cage.
CJ is a sweet and quiet Bluefront Amazon. He is hand tame and loves to get scritches. He enjoys time on a play stand and is used to a lot of time out of his cage. CJ has a weight problem that he is trying to get under control. He is a bit upset about his dietary restrictions but we’ve explained to him that it’s for his own good, not that he believes us. His new family will have to agree to continue his weight loss program and regular vet exams.ADOPTED
Bluebird is a bit of a grumpy and feisty Bluefront Amazon. He will have to choose you. He is an older bird and kind of set in his ways. He obviously was not happy with the photographer in this picture.
Marvin is a 30 yr. old Bluefront Amazon. He does seem to have a preference for men but you just never know who he may take to. Marvin really enjoys his toys and if he does not care for you he will take it out on his favorite toy. He loves to “hellwoa”
Ruby believes bald is beautiful! We are working on a special diet for Ruby to try to help with feather growth and provide her a bit better nutrition for overall health. Eclectus have some different requirements than other parrots. Her new family will need to do their research on Eclectus care and diets so they can provide Ruby with the best possible diet and care. Ruby can be a bit grouchy but we feel with the right person ,a change in diet and lots of stimulation and patience, she could be a very good companion for the right person.
Pecker was lose outside and chose her previous human by flying down and landing on his shoulder. She is an absolute doll if she likes you, if not, beware. She had started plucking but began to re-feather before her previous human had life changes forcing him to give her up. She does seem to prefer men.ADOPTED
Cocoa and Cavat are a couple and cannot be separated. In their previous home they were fully flighted. Both are very experienced flyers! They are hand tame.
Kelsey is an adult Severe macaw. She is tame but needs an experienced bird person. She will test you to see how much she can get away with. Kelsey needs an adult home that has no other birds or only a couple of other birds. She did come fro a home with a U2 and an M2.
Oscar is a 35 yr. old Orangewing Amazon. He is a total sweetheart of an Amazon! We have even been able to roll him on his back and rock him. Oscar has been through 2 rescues that we know of so he really needs a place to finish out his life which could be another 30 yrs.
